So, I mentioned that Azzy can travel between timelines and worlds, right? Well there is one limitation.
If she travels back in time, anything she does to that timeline does not affect her home timeline. No matter how hard she tries, she can't change anything...
...and oh lords, how she's tried.
In the 1920s, Azzy travelled around Europe a lot. She loved the swing, the dances, the glamour... Anyway, in 1922, only a year or two before she became immortal, she went to a grand party with a colleague of hers. At this party, she met a devastatingly handsome man, whom she spent most of the evening with, talking and dancing and even a few stolen kisses...
However, she didn't fully remember his name, and the next few times she went back to the area, she didn't find him.
For the rest of the decade, even after she became immortal, she kept searching for him, the task diminishing her enjoyment of the parties and revelry.
When the Great Depression hit, she stopped traveling to Europe, and her favorite places suddenly became much more dangerous...
During WWII she didn't do much, mainly just wondering what the hell was going on over there and observing how others reacted to the events. She had turned numb out of lovelorn boredom.
That all changed once the war ended.
After it was over, she had a severe breakdown due to learning about the inhuman horrors that had occurred. She also found out the true identity of the man she had been looking for for over two decades.
...and let's just say, it wasn't good.
It took Azzy around 6 years to recover, because she suddenly obtained a new ability...
The power to jump timelines and worlds.
After gaining this power, she immediately proceeded to go back to that one fateful night, and discovered that the other timelines were exactly the same as hers, but she was never born in any of them. Nonetheless, she tried to change what had happened, to warn him, to run away from his horrible fate...
but it didn't work. When Azzy returned to her home timeline, it was exactly the same.
This, of course, broke her again. She finally thought she could solve what had been plaguing her for three decades now. But she realized that she could now learn about what had gone wrong in his mind to lead to all of this pain.
So, she began talking to him.
Over the course of many decades, she travelled to every point in-between their meeting and his death to find out the truth about what went wrong. As the first picture states, she had many conversations, and yes, they did kill each other multiple times. But all was but progress for an answer.
The answer? It's quite complicated, and Azzy is constantly torn about her feelings for him and will be until the end of time.
If you ask Azzy about any of this, she will not tell you, and will try to kill you if you figure enough of it out.
Thanks for reading this and good night to you all!
