As you can see from this ultra informative, sublime map screen... Yeah, I'm not messing with any of that until I finished making the demo. I wouldn't even know where to begin with a map screen. #gamedev #indiedev #videogamedesign

I finished it up a while back, but items can now be used in battle. Why's the item brighter than the rest of the screen? I'm trying to fix that, but it's not exactly obvious to me how I can make it blend in easily #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart #videogames

The Battle System is coming together, bit of a long way to go though. Like adding lighting to fire at some point. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart #videogamedesign

The battle system is pretty much at a point where I can afford to take a break from it (for now, since it's actually playable), which means it's time for the first battle of the game - a boss battle with a VERY pissed off demoness! #gamedev #pixelart

Did you miss out on any of the games we highlighted from Steam Next Fest? They're all listed in the article. Check out their demos before Next Fest ends!

This animation... took me way too long to make.

Proportions are "fun"! #gamedev #indiedev #picelart #videogames

Akatori is an epic metroidvania where you wield your staff to fight, jump, and explore diverse realms across different eras.

It's also one of the games that's part of Steam Next Fest!

Take a trip to Nostalgia Land in @JacksonG13 's Sky World 64, a cozy sandbox game that harkens back to the 64-bit era.

This survival experience takes heavy inspiration from Minecraft’s Skyblock!

So I originally wanted to make this little guy fully bipedal, but visualizing that in my head... It wouldn't have looked good at all. So I just stuck with the quadrepedal walk instead. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart #videogamedesign #videogames
