Hey everybody! I am aware, I skipped last week's update, so this devlog has two weeks worth of content. I was busy with college and I want to be able to show more of a finished product. While this build is still a bit rough in some aspects (there are some visual and sound bugs you might be able to spot), it's really close to the final product already and has been able to scare me really badly. Let's get into the content!
The Baker
Everyone who's been following this game for some time already knows about our friend The Baker. He's an original character inspired by CakeBear. His mechanic has changed since the last time we saw him in action, as I wanted to do something much scarier. Three Bakers will appear in the office and they will force you to play their game. Two of them are an illusion, fake Bakers created by the real one to trick you. You must watch them all three closely, as the real one will move his head slightly. As you can see, in this encounter, I was caught off guard and didn't look closely enough, leading to my death. I suggest you look at the video and try telling me in the comments which Baker you thought was real.
But!!! Be really careful, if a Baker moves, that doesn't immediately mean he is the real one, it could also be fake. How can you tell them apart then? Well, at some point, a rat will come out of it, which means you can discard that one.

This is an image of what that might look like when you're playing.
Once you think you know which Baker is the real one, blow his candle and pray that you didn't make a mistake. If time runs out, which you can tell by the music playing, you lose.
It's a mechanic that really forces you to focus and get really close to the screen, something you might not want to do when you're expecting a jumpscare.
As for his "cakes", well... let's just say he doesn't use the most usual ingredients.
The lobby

You might have spotted this brand new camera in the video. It is the lobby, the entrance but seen from the interior. It looks very cozy and features a bunch of cute, small frog animatronics in the back. It's actually a swamp, not a real one of course, but that's what the setting depicts. Kids come into the restaurant through here and then reach FredBear and Bonnie's home, which is the stage. It's all meant to make kids feel like they're entering a whole new world, not just a restaurant.
The parking

This parking is exclusive for employees. Look at that, it's Jeremy's car and... that bear again. Let's hope he doesn't scratch the car.
Anyways, it was important to me that the game had exteriors as I think it's not something we see in fangames often, so here it is.
The Hand Unit

This contraption has a very nice use, it allows the player to recover a bunch of energy after it runs out. Energy runs out really quickly in this game, so you're gonna need to use this Hand Unit more than you may think. In the hard difficulty, it's awful. Really, it's truly hard. I can't believe I nailed it first time in the video, I've never managed to do that before. This machine right here is meant to be a punishment, manage your energy correctly cause, trust me, you don't wanna face this thing.
Coding
Every aspect of the office that will be featured in the beta is already coded. There's still some bug fixing to do and I'm still working on integrating more sounds that will make gameplay feel more alive. A lot of music is also being composed to accompany the gameplay, as I really like the cinematic feeling it gives off. I really want to focus on the sound being as smooth as possible, which is something that right now really bothers me. After all that sound integration, I'll make some rough menus for the custom night so that the beta testers will be able to customize the experience as much as they want.
I'm also focusing on balancing right now. 20 difficulty should be impossible for me, while 15 should be hard, but beatable. So, I'll be playing a lot of my own game in the next few days, which sucks cause I get scared by it a lot.
Anyways, that's all for today, I hope you have a wonderful day and see you next week!
