To understand where I'm coming from, the game I play most these days is Minecraft, and engaging with Villagers is the most enjoyable activity outside of having another Player around. In an environment that's perpetually hostile, the bond between Players and Villagers is quickly built due to the reliance on Players to make sure villages are safe to live in. Building a village that's secure and efficient is satisfying and rewarding, and not just because of the trading aspect.
So...thinking of Villagers as creatures feels a bit dehumanizing? Yes, I know they aren't human, and they are just code, but what I built with them feels diminished by framing them as such. This is a bit of a ME issue here, but I can't be the only one who feels it. Thoughts?
