Caves are a weird thing,
they can be formed by running water, tectonic movements and many more reasons, they are made of minerals and rock, but at the same time, they are living organisms.
They breathe and grow, they have their very own "microbiome" (fauna like bacteria, fungi and multicellular animals) they can be hurt and can heal those wounds, but that does not mean they are not fascinating.
Caves cause the same feeling the abyss of the deap ocean causes to people who suffer from thalassophobia (including myself), a feeling of dread, fear of the abyss, but personaly they are fascinating, the mistery of its depths linger the deeper and depper you go, tight tunnels made for running water streams and large tunnels who feel made just for you.
