Community Poll - Progress Reports

Howdy!

If you read our last devlog, you'd see that we're planning on releasing multiple teasers for the demo showcasing gameplay footage. However, we've also discussed something else--potentially having more frequent updates to keep people up to date with our progress.

We know that we've gone a while without posting any significant updates at times. For the most part, we keep people posted with any developments via our Discord. Though, since GameJolt is where most of our following is, we figured that we should show off more things here, too.

Currently, we have a good chunk of the demo completed (over 50% is done!) This allows us to show off a relatively decent amount of gameplay footage--though any major spoilers (cutscenes, puzzle solutions, etc.) will be censored. We don't want to reveal all of our secrets before the demo comes out, now, do we? This also allows us to demonstrate brand new gameplay mechanics that were not present in UNDERTALE--the Journal is one of the most noteworthy, though we have some others, too.

We've also done a variety of different tweaks to pre-existing mechanics, like our menus. While we've already shown this off with things like the main menu and items menu, we have some more extra things: for instance, the brand-new SAVE menu we recently conceptualized based on feedback and suggestions. We didn't want to make anything too over the top or fancy, nor did we want to break the existing menu style, so we made some slight adjustments in order to update the design AND features of it!

...Huh? Why wasn't this in the teaser video? Oh... we might have accidentally come up with this idea after we uploaded that. Oops!

Now, this brings us to the main part. We'd like to poll everyone on what they'd rather see: more frequent updates with less content, or less frequent updates with more content. We would also appreciate it if people left some comments describing what exactly they would like to see in terms of development. Obviously, while this includes things like screenshots and gameplay footage, it may also extend to things like concept art/mockups, scrapped content, and anything else related to the demo specifically that is also not spoiler content.

Well, that's it for now! Remember to vote in the poll below, leave a comment, and please check out our most recent teaser video! If you'd like to, maybe even share it with friends!
