Howdy again!
The community poll we held regarding the frequency of progress reports has ended, and the results are... quite interesting, to be honest! For a while, the team has noticed that one of the biggest complains people seem to have is how infrequent our development updates are. We anticipated that more people would vote for more frequent updates with less content, instead of how we've been doing less frequent updates with more content. However...
It seems that the votes, while a bit mixed, are in favor of the latter.
Now, here's the thing--in order to give everyone what they want, we've come up with a solution. We plan on saving the more major content for less frequent, larger devlogs, while posting more regular updates with smaller content (such as the teaser videos, as well as general gameplay footage and screenshots/mockups.)
Through this compromise, we aim to show we're actively working on the game, while also revealing big stuff every so often so we don't give away too much at one time. And maybe even gain more people's interest in the project, too!
Speaking of frequent minor updates... we actually have a few things to show!
Now, if you watched our most recent teaser video (please do!), you'll have seen the in-game "sepia" border that displays during the intro sequence.
We've actually been wanting to touch this up for a while, and we finally have! Going for a much more minimalist approach, we've come up with something we enjoy much better!
Now, remember that SAVE menu rework we showed a concept mockup of in the last devlog? Well, we finally have it fully implemented in-game! The main menu hasn't been updated just yet to reflect these new changes, though it will be in time.
Make sure to keep reading, because we're not done just yet! Before we finish up for today, I want to tell everyone about the Storyshift Reboot.
Storyshift has been around for quite some time, and I'm sure many of you already know about it. For those who didn't know, it used to have an official comic by the creator of the AU (No, it's not a community-owned AU, and it never was. There's official stuff!)
However, it's currently going through a huge reboot! Rather than a sprite comic format like the previous iteration of the AU, the Storyshift reboot exists as a detailed series of documents including written story and dialogue, as well as accompanying artwork and official music! For instance:
As well as:

And, well, that does it for now. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please make sure to leave them in the comments of this devlog! Alternatively, you could also leave them on our Discord or Tumblr. Anything works, really!
