Heya folks,
this is very late (I'm practically uploading this before the next dev log) been a weirdly busy week... BUT IGNORING THAT, there is a lot to get through, so here's the new updates from the past week!
First things first,
New Box Art (landscape ver.)
As you may have noticed, the thumbnail for this post is our new box art!! Of course we're missing the text right now (figuring out our fonts soon, trust me...) but the composition and rendering for our first formal box-art has been finished!
Here's a behind-the-scenes look at the larger scene, with a little sneak peak of this weeks version of the spaceship ;)
Camera Movements
This has been rotting in my images folder for a while now, I may or may not have forgotten to upload these in a prior devlog... (whoops)
In order from top to bottom: Camera Movment (WASD), Camera Rotation (Q + E) and Camera Zoom (scroll in + out)
Environment + Color Palette Updates
We decided on a proper color palette, and have updated the tiles with them!
Additionally, our 3D modeller Few Ruckus has made new environment assets for the map and a sample scene to showcase them!
Updated Soldier Model
Some adjustments have been made to better finalize the look of our base soldier unit, with some more detail added!
UI Updates
Great strides have been made in our UI recently with Matthew taking on the role as our UI designer full time. With that, I'd like to update his progress on the game's interfaces a bit by showcasing his plans:
Of course this is just the sketch and planning, but some button styles have been tested here and there to figure out the feel most fitting for our game:
None of these are final, but a lot of strides have been made, and we are very open to any critisicm!
