Dark Riddle on PC: A Decent Port or an Abandoned Project?

Dark Riddle on PC: A Decent Port or an Abandoned Project?

Overall Impression
The game isn't bad at all, but there’s a massive elephant in the room that we need to talk about: the state of the PC version.

The Update Drought
First of all, the PC port hasn't been updated in a long time, and honestly? It doesn't look like it ever will be.

Because of this, playing Dark Riddle on PC just isn't as exciting anymore. All the cool new content — missions, tasks, and seasonal events (like Christmas or the Winter update) — is thriving on mobile but completely missing on PC. This lack of support makes the PC experience feel static and, eventually, pretty boring compared to its mobile counterpart.

Graphics vs. Content
Sure, the developers polished the visuals a bit and added some nice fog effects, but eye candy isn't enough to replace actual gameplay. We basically got a "pretty" but abandoned port.

While the PC version focuses on visuals, the mobile version is where the actual content lives.

Why Was It Sidelined?
It’s likely the PC port was put on the back burner due to low interest from YouTubers and a smaller player base, leading to low profitability. As a fan, that’s a tough pill to swallow.

Final Verdict
Despite the issues, the PC port is still a decent way to experience the main story. It was released when the first part’s plot was complete, so you can still have a smooth, comfortable playthrough of the core game — just don’t expect any of the mobile "extras."

Quick Summary: Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

1. Visual Upgrades: Improved graphics and atmospheric fog effects.

2. Platform Comfort: Stable controls and smooth performance on PC.

❌ Cons:

1. Frozen in Time: No new patches or updates for a long period.

2. Missing Features: Seasonal events and new missions are mobile-only.

3. Abandoned Project: Feels like developer engagement has hit zero.

What do you think? Should the devs give the PC port a second chance, or is it better to stick with the mobile version? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
