Day 128


Day 128: Today was just like any other day. I woke up, worked, ate, worked again, and now I’m writing this. I can’t seem to find anything worth of mentioning. Maybe it’s because there is none. So I’m just going to write pointless things just like any politician. Is it working? It sures does some volume. Incredible!

Daily interesting stuff: lot of links today, it’s to compensate yesterday.

Tasks done:

  • Sent some screen shots on the slack channel. Yesterday I played with the new room tileset. I hads some screenshot to share with the artists but slack didn’t want me upload them. So I opened it up this morning and I saw that every upload try was now in the chat. So I deleted the useless stuff.

  • Did 35 new rooms. I’m sure you’re thinking “what?? But that’s more that yesterday!”. And you’re right it’s more. That’s mostly because I realized I need much more rooms than I thought. So I decided to cut corners. I don’t put the border tile between the walls and the floor. It’s useless since I’ll have to change the tileset when the new version is ready. Also since I realized I have much more rooms to make and not enough time, I decided to cut some things from this sprint. So I won’t do the introduction cut scene nor the end cutscene. Anyway, I don’t think it fits in the “content room”.

  • Made the enemies’ bullet bigger. I thought about it for some time. It’s an easy way to add some difficulties and “SHMUP” feeling. I realized today that it was super easy to do. I just made the bullet prefab bigger. Since the enemies don’t actually influence this, it was okay. I’m not 100% about the result, but I decided to leave it that way for now. And that’s not just because I wanted to do one more commit and have one more bullet in today’s log!
