DeadBase for Windows (Windows 8 too!) COMING SOON


Hey everyone.
I know quite a chunk of people have actually been interested in playing a native version of DeadBase : Dead Basic, as expressed via news article comments and messages.

I haven’t got anything right now, but I am working on porting it natively to Windows. So far it’s all working as intended with only a couple of slight bugs, and the performance over the HTML5 version (http://clay.io/game/deadbase) is phenominal to say the least.

I’ve decided that I will only be releasing a native windows legacy version of DB for GameJolt, because the lack of advanced functionality with HTML5 is too horribad.

In other news - DB has been ported to Windows 8, and for Surface on the Windows Store, for free.
I’m not too sure of many details of this, as I got a friend to do all the porting and handling the distribution for those platforms.
It was entered into WinBig, for YoYoGame’s comp.

All that’s left to do for the GameJolt version is to integrate the GameMaker api for highscores and achievements, and relevant tasks.

Still, no gurantees.
Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday. (very soon)

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
