While I had the main trio of characters for Crafty's Play Zone (plus Version 0 which I knew I wanted in the game), I felt that there needed to be one more threat added into the game's nights. One that wasn't a primary threat, but was instead a little more annoying...

That's how I came up with the Cublets (the combination of 'cubs' and 'triplets'). These three little troublemakers have pre-programmed games that let them play with kids in Cub's Playground. To avoid each of them becoming boring copy-and-pastes of each other, I wanted to give each of them their own distinct style and personality.

Because of how rough they played with the kids, each of them eventually got rips, tears and paint splattered onto them.

Sun

Sun is based off of a Sun bear, and is the only female out of all the Cublets. She mainly acts as the leader of the Cublets, with Blu and Pan typically following her steps. To fit with her species and name, she mainly consists of warmer colours like yellows and oranges, along with her deep red eyes. She is by far the most vicious out of all of them, being shown with her usual angry eyebrows and evil grin, even being the one that resulted in the Cublets being decommissioned from a certain incident (is that red paint on her teeth, or something else?).

Pan

Pan is based off of a Panda and is definitely the most childish out of all of them. He absolutely loves food, even though he can't eat it, which is why he goes for the breaker in the Kitchen. This is further shown as he always appears gripping his favourite lollipop wherever he goes! Pan was the hardest out of all of the Cublets to design. We experimented with different colour palettes for his t-shirt and hat, such as red, blue and pink, but ultimately ended with green. He didn't even end up getting his bib until he was almost finished being modelled!

Blu

Blu is based off of a Tibetan blue bear, and is the shyest Cublet out of them all. He's much quieter than the others, preferring to keep to himself. We thought that he might look up to Crafty as an idol, which is why he's dressed so smart in his waistcoat and bowtie. While Sun has suffered some rips, and Pan has his droopy eye and torn ear, Blu probably got the worst withering of them all as his right hand has completely fallen out of it's socket!

There was a lot of love, care and attention put into their designs in order to convey a certain personality for each of them, and I hope it worked out well! Next, I'll be talking about Version 0 as well as a few scrapped ideas/mechanics from the game!
