Devlog #3 - Planting and Building


Hey all! Here is a new update to Lumber Islands that shows off some new features.

  • Plans booklet has been overhauled!
    As seen in the video, the plans booklet has been redesigned to be both easier to understand and to know what builds give you what. Each plan has a description of its general purpose (and maybe a silly line at the end), what the build's parts are, and what the build outputs.

  • New global item!
    You may have noticed that there is a new item, the wrench! Wrenches are used in most complex builds instead of having a build use up to four unique items (which was a tad annoying in the original game from my experience). Wrenches can be obtained in many ways, but that will be revealed later!

  • Planting has been overhauled!
    As seen in the video, Tyke can now toss a seed up and have it plant itself when it lands, giving a little more fun to the process! The plant button, alongside other actions, will be given key binds so running and planting will be comfortable.

Here's a Minecraft clone in Fusion Firefly with cubic chunks and server hosting that I made a few months ago. It still has its problems but it came out pretty well. It's mainly written in Lua like the game in my previous video.

Here's an old beta of the game showcasing some old graphics and the now scrapped Stocking, acting like the boot from Super Mario Bros. 3. It was scrapped from the game because of its stark resemblance but it was fun to make!
