This devlog is going to be pretty short unfortunately, and since the "super big news" that I've been teasing for so long is still in development, I thought that I'd work on coding the full game with all of the 3D models that I currently had completely rendered.
For starters: Let me just say that the actual footage of the office that you see is definitely not going to be in the final version of the game. The UI displayed are just placeholders to see what looks nice or not, to see whether or not I like a certain look more than the other.
Also, there's something you may or may not have noticed about the office!
If you've been following along with the game's development ever since I teased the very first look of the full game's office, you'd probably notice that the lighting, and overall layout of the office has changed, and for good reason too!
Office Ver.1
Office Ver.2
First of all, I made the office smaller and rearranged some stuff around. I kind of just removed the unnecessary space that really annoyed me while rendering it the first few times.
I also changed the lighting up a bit, not that I disliked the lighting in the first one, but the colors kind of reminded me of the demo's office, plus, the second one's lighting looked way better in the test game, trust me.
I also moved the "supply closet" door, which was an unused mechanic in the demo from the side, to behind the player, cause during the rendering process, the volumetric fog and the distance from the camera to the fog, really fucked up the way that entire corner was rendered, and moving the door closer while keeping the settings similar to the other version's fog came out with way better results.
Also, the reason why I said "supply closet" in quotes, is because it's not really a supply closet anymore. As you saw in the gameplay footage, it actually leads out into the employees only hallway, which connects to the Office, Show Stage, Parts & Service Room, Break Room, Bathrooms, and the Managers Office! And spoiler alert, all of those rooms mentioned will be important during the game!
Like I said in the previous devlog, I really wish I could share my super big secret with you, but it's not ready enough for me to even tease it with footage or images yet. I really hope the wait will be worth it when the time comes, but I thought that I should update you on the game's development, and compared to the last devlog, this is a lot of progress, as I didn't even open Clickteam until a couple of weeks ago since the demo's latest update.
To end off this devlog, thank you so much for all of the love and support you've given me on this project, it's coming along very smoothly and I really appreciate every last crumb of your support!
Until next time, cya! ♡
