What do you think?

Played the demo, and I think there's potential in the game to be a very good one. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the phone call (although the script could be a little more straightforward with its instructions), but there are quite a bunch of small and big issues to take care of. Here are some of the more important ones that I noticed.

1: The track in the menu sounds painful. I played the game with my headphones on and it crushed my ears. Either find a better track to use or edit the track in order to limit those ear-crushing sounds. A volume option in the options menu would be appreciated as well.

One more thing I noticed is how the track restarts when I switch back and forth between the main and options menu.

2: The UI is pretty hit or miss in the game. I started the game with a warning text that not only covered one forth of my screen, but it was also at the corner and not centered (I play on a 1080p display in case you use a different one). The animations of the panels in the game (especially the "maintenance" panel) could be faster so I could click the buttons more quickly. The buttons for the mechanics are also pretty small and you have to read everything on the screen first in order to understand what they may do. Would like a distinction between the titles and the buttons (such as making the "initiate" buttons bigger and with a rectangle surrounding them in order to make them look clickable). Using a secondary font for the panels would be nice too instead of the same font that you've used for the title and other stuff.

3: Minimize the flickering lights in the office, they're simply way too much. Making them randomized also makes them look better than watching the flickering play on loop. A nice thing you could do is use the flickering as a hint that the animatronics are entering the office, at least certain ones.

4: I don't like the tasks at all. I have to be honest here (for the sake of the game itself) and call them out for being simply too boring, as you do nothing more than holding a button for a certain amount of time and that's it. Even a simple de-progression mechanic (similar to the one in Sister Location's breaker room with Funtime Freddy) could make it a little more interesting as you have to use the panel even more often and possibly help with the tension. There are many things that you can do as tasks instead of just holding a button so I hope you use your creativity to come up with something more interesting than that. The rest of the gameplay seems fine (other than the lack of action and movement; in fact, I finished all four tasks before they even took the first step, and of course it won't be the case in later nights but the first night has to be fun too, you know).

These are the most important stuff to talk about for now, the rest are nitpicks and a lot less necessary. The game is interesting and looks better than a huge portion of the games recently released, so I thought I might as well share my opinion to help the game release with a better and enjoyable state.

Yo man this looks sick :)

Animatronic Data Repair is a complete remake from my 2020 unfinished game, "Freddy Fazbear's Recruitment: Animatronic Data Repair (@Pooichii ). Giving it a fresh coat of paint, with a brand new original story that takes a dive into the dark lore of Five Night's at Freddy's.

The year is 1995 and Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Palace is about to make it's grand opening! A place that will immerse you inside of Freddy's world filled with adventure, great pizza, a wonderful arcade filled with games never seen before, and shows that have been in children’s dreams since Fazbear Entertainment made their debut. Which is what 19 year old Lake Greyson was expecting when he got the job as the family restaurant's security guard. "What could go wrong," he jokingly said, as he entered the establishment for his first night shift.

Devlog 3 - March 29, 2024 - Animatronic Data Repair's (kind of) New GameJolt Page!

On a scale of 1/3, this article is a 3! Meaning that you should absolutely read or skim through it!

Also here's the game's first poster without the text, I forgot to post it.

First Chica render from a couple days ago...looks familiar but I can't put my finger on it..

I graduate this month! Isn’t that exciting? :D
