A year ago, I opened the page of the game «One Night at Flumpty's 2 Egglus» — a fan-made DLC game of «One Night at Flumpty's 2». This game was supposed to be my experimental project, after which I was supposed to resume the development of another game. However, at the same time, the war in Ukraine began...
And now in order. If someone didn't know, I live in Ukraine. My place of residence wouldn't matter if it weren't for February 24, 2022 — the day Putin announced a special military operation, thereby beginning a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. A day that divided my (and not only my) life into before and after. Almost immediately, on February 26, I announced that I had suspended the development of the game, as, firstly, there was no desire to do anything, and secondly, there was a military threat to my region and to the existence of Ukraine as a state.
On the occasion of the birthday of «One Night at Flumpty's 2», I published a small devlog, in which I announced that I was resuming the development of the game, but in fact, it was far from being resumed. Since I needed to deal with personal matters and update the outdated community on Discord, I decided to postpone the development of the game but not write about it, thinking that too little time would pass for it to affect the duration of development. Unfortunately, I was wrong, but more on that later.
In the summer, when I finished dealing with personal matters, it was time to update the community. There was a lot of work to do, but on July 12, there was partly unexpected event for me — the armed forces of the Russian Federation began shelling my city. Since my family understood that this was likely not for just one week, we decided to leave Ukraine for a safer place.
Unfortunately, due to the unexpected move, I lost my desire to work on anything, and I also needed to start integrating into a new society. But perhaps the biggest problem was that I had an outdated laptop that physically prevented me from working. Due to all these problems, I made the decision to postpone my activities for better times.
From all that has been said, I can state that development of the game was frozen since February 26 and was not resumed. I apologize for misleading you and not warning you that I had to change my plans due to the military actions. Is it my fault? I didn't have a special motivation to write a devlog specifically for this game. However, I saw the activity of users who were following the development of the game, so yes, it's my fault. I apologize again. I will try to make sure that something like this does not happen in the future.
Well, is the game cancelled and won't be released? No!
Firstly, I have regained motivation to work, and secondly, I have a new laptop. Therefore, I can say that I am back!
However, this does not mean that I will resume game development tomorrow. I have some tasks related to my activities that I need to finish before I can fully return to game development. Details about this will be shared later.
The next devlog is planned to be published in the middle of spring, if there is enough material. I will tell you in advance about a couple of changes that are coming to the game. Due to the prolonged development, the project will position itself more as an DLC to «One Night at Flumpty's 2» rather than a standalone game. This means that the game's design and theme will be completely changed. Additionally, there will be support for other languages such as Portuguese, Polish, Ukrainian, and Belarusian. And even more new content will be added to diversify gameplay! Also, expect various activities related to the project (more details about them will be announced later). 👀
I am ready to try to answer your questions that interest you! Ask them in the comments under this post. I am also ready to hear suggestions for innovations for the game, etc.
Also, I can't help but mention the number of followers! Thank you so much to everyone who has been following me even during my inactivity! I hope you haven't forgotten about me, and that I won't disappoint you.
