Hello, you may not have been expecting me to post here, but hi, I’m one of the writers for DBL ; @StressTown

I’m here to explain our general direction with DTBL’s writing and its current direction. And to share stuff we have and info

STORY

The story is obviously a what-if for Dusttale and Dustbelief’s bare roots happening in a single timeline. DUSTTALE - SANS TAKING MATTERS INTO HIS OWN HANDS // GETTING STRONGER DUSTBELIEF - PAPYRUS TAKING OUT SOMEONE IN SELF DEFENSE // LOSS OF INNOCENCE. These two events will happen in this one timeline, and will be ironed out in order to make more sense in occurring. (Dead Sea, intercession, etc)

We’re trying to make it that explains some of the new stuff, along with some of the new areas in the underground hat were added (mainly making some niche-r things canon that are not well known, or expanding the underground's areas for more interactions.) so these events flow naturally with the world changing as well, with the world reflecting back with ALL of the main actions. Tying this all together is me and Sharky trying to make sure the world STILL feels as natural and charming as it did in base UNDERTALE, and hopefully we don't let you all down.

CHARACTERIZATION

The characters are closer to their base UT personalities, HOWEVER, due to this being DustTale, they’ve already differed from their main personality. (Mainly sans, and flowey.) Though me and Sharky will be doing our best in order to properly write everyone as well as we can to make it feel natural. The biggest change of this is in the SoundCloud descriptions, due to me writing EVERY SONG’S description to feel more up to date. Some characters such as PAPYRUS or UNDYNE will be given the spotlight in some neutral branches. Such as PAPYRUS being given more choices overall, or Undyne having unique forms for such routes, or even the MAIN spotlight.

This also ties into another thing about the main story.

NEW NEUTRAL BRANCHES. (This game is never coming out is it)

All of your choices have an impact on some neutral branches, the main neutral route is typically what you'd expect, with it being a kind of violent pacifist route, but more things have a major impact!

I'm not naming anything because Sharky would skin me, but know that much!

MUSIC

@LynxUT speaking. As a current co-owner I just want to say that with the most recent tracks' controversy, the original The Murder will still be selectable for the snowdin encounter as well as it being revamped to be even better, not even to mention it will show up once again in the DUSTTALE DLC. First time hearing about this? Join up the discord server to not miss out. Waterfall and Snowdin OSTs will get tracks abit changed, as well as FLATRICIDE 2 releasing sometime next year. Hotland part of the soundtrack, as already been concluded via poll will release sometime in march-april in it's entirety done by yours truly. FURTHER-MORE

• Sans is able to use a trading type of combat, where if you land a hit on him, he’s able to retaliate with an attack as equal to what you did to him, so you need to take him out in one hit in order to properly handle him.

• I, @StressTown , co own DTBL now, and will try my best to make the writing feel much more natural and having plenty ideas. I’m hoping sharky and I cook for the lot of you.
