It's been a minute.
So I have an issue. The original content I have promised is the reason EMCN 2 kind of went on hiatus. I realized the amount of work to get it realized is far more than I had anticipated. Whenever I thought about making the custom night, I felt excited to finally get it going. However, when I considered working on the original content, I felt demotivated, which led to the huge hiatus. I was even on the verge of canceling the game. I do want the original content to be released one way or another, but I don't want to slow down EMCN 2's development because I'm too lazy or something. Therefore, as a compromise, I have decided not to work on the original content at this time and instead focus on the custom night. The custom night is the majority of what this game is, so I want that to be done regardless. As such, the original content may be included in a future update if I decide to complete it. If not, then I am sorry. I feel like this project has too little value to have as much content as I'd hoped from the start. I wanted this game to have something for the casuals, as I had seen some casual YouTubers play the original EMCN, and outside of the presets, I felt like they couldn't do much. The final game will still have unlockables and such, even with no original content, so that could be something to chew on while I work in the background. I hate to scrap content, but the development time would increase tenfold if I decided to add the original content, and for something like a FNaF custom night fangame, it's probably too much. If it does get scrapped, some of my music will be scrapped with it unless I can give it a replacement home. If not, I'll probably shove them in a scrapped content menu. I hope you guys understand, if you even care.
On to the regularly scheduled program, I have done some work for the custom night "menu." It's a rough mock-up of what I have in mind, so not everything is final. This is where you'll customize the AI values, set presets or challenges, and possibly access sub-menus. I was planning on adding a title screen, but this might be the title screen if I never make one. The concept is supposed to be like window pop-ups when you click on their respective icons on the desktop. It's not the greatest, but I think it works for right now. Obviously, there will be more than two games. I think I mentioned that already. Additionally, the Windows elements, such as the icon and background, will likely be replaced. That's currently being discussed with myself. I dunno why I said it like that.
Also, I can confirm that, surprisingly, there will be 30 characters for the normal cast, which is 9 more than the original EMCN, 12 if you don't count the task characters.
I also have a version of what the title will look like. It'll probably be revealed when the game page is available. It's... different from what the original EMCN looks like, and it's probably eye-catching.
That's all. Sorry for rambling on and on. I promise to get at least the custom night out. I'll be satisfied if I do that. At this point, the original content is just the cherry on top, or the sun that melts it if it turns out to be terrible.
