Game
Don't Die: Cyberlife

End of OST, Enemies, and the beginning of Sound Effects, Skills, and Inventory.

Hello everybody! It’s Igor here, and today I’ll tell you the dopest things I did last week game dev-wise. But first, let me apologize for not posting this yesterday. I didn’t have enough time to do so. Anyways, let’s get started!

Soundtrack

The soundtrack was finally finished the last week, all twenty-nine songs composed. That’s the coolest thing that happened this week, in my opinion.

But that wasn’t the last challenge, OST-wise. I still have to add the soundtrack to the game, which means converting all “.WAV” files to “.OGG” and adding all songs to the levels.

Enemies

AND… I’m still not done with them. I know, I said I would, but I decided to leave the best for last and this week I’ll finish him. I say “him” because there’s only one boss left to program, and I wanna do it right. The game only misses the Cyberlord, a.k.a. Cyberland, at the moment.

So Nandertia and Threidee are done. But Cyberlord still isn’t the end. I still have to make Sound Effects, which, to be honest with you, is not that hard. I’ve been already doing some Sound Design, and the game is sounding awesome. It’s impressive how much Sound Effects can change something.

Also, enemies now flash white when they receive a hit. That’s just a nice addition, in my opinion.

Bugfixing

While the game has just like, three known bugs left, I’ve fixed all bugs I wanted to, and still a few more that were a result of it.

Juicing

You must know by now how much I love to juice up my games. It’s the funniest part of game development in my opinion.

I’ve done quite a substantial amount of “juicing” last week, including adding some particles and sounds whenever the player collects an Item, making the screen ripple whenever a Singularity is spawned, adding sound effects to enemies for when they get hit, and making them blink whenever the same happens.

There’s a lot more to what I did, and that’s just the tip of the huge iceberg that is juicing a game.

Next

  • Cyberlord.

  • Some Skills.

  • Debris and Inventory.

  • Add OST to the game.

  • Sound Effects.

  • Visual Effects.

  • More Juicing.

I know I said I would make the debris collection system last week, but I also didn’t have time for that. Sad face.

I really do hope you like what you just read. Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter and thanks for reading.
