Turns out, if you decide to lease out a PlayStation console, you will be indefinitely paying a monthly fee until you stop, then you have to return the console. And no, you're not paying it off from that monthly rent, you're essentially paying more if you're past $600. The seller is getting revenue off of the rent. But to the consumer, they get NOTHING.
And they're targeting this towards people and families with lower income.
You know, I just stopped being surprised about any of this. I don't believe wasting your energy getting super angry is even doing anything, either.
This is kind of the reason why I tried to lean in more in the positive light of the tech world more than the negatives. I've been consuming so much negativity that it's almost unbearable.
But you know how it works.
Every corporation is using AI.
GameJolt and whatever suspicions people we're having with them.
Xbox price increases.
What just happened to PlayStation (the image I posted above).
Nintendo's pricings.
RAM price skyrockets.
Adobe.
Discord age verification.
Roblox.
Ads.
Microsoft Windows.
Privacy (though, this is more complicated than you think).
YouTube.
Plants vs Zombies: Replanted.
Mass subscription-based services.
Corporations refusing to let you have ownership.
"You will own nothing and be happy about it" - Ubisoft.
The list just goes on and on. And I'm even nervously assuming that even operating systems themselves might kind of become political. We are starting to become like this.

Well, I'm not saying this is exactly what is happening, but I'm getting this vibe.
However, we got bigger problems like this.

Honestly, any website without any use or mentioning of AI are already starting to feel nostalgic, even though it's only been 4 years since AI was established.
Remember when I used to use Renderforest? They had no AI use at all in early 2020s, and it was all about creative marketing and presentations. But now, they're entirely contradicting their purpose with this.
But the point is, as some of you may know, there's always negative light everywhere.
My advice?
Do the same as I am trying to do. Lean more into positive aspects rather than letting negatives consume your entire brain and then tell you to abandon whatever you're on entirely unless if there's legitimate and reasonable justification.
I still do agree on entirely rejecting really bad and shady practices, like this new PlayStation renting, and more importantly, protecting our consumer rights. Penguinz0 even showed an interesting Wiki (or source) that is mainly focuses on consumer rights.
Though, it's still community contributed. I've noticed a couple of grammatical and spelling errors, so I won't believe every single thing articles has to say. And you might consume even more negativity there. The list of anti-consumer violations still lists corporations that I have been associated with for over a decade.
Thank goodness GameJolt has no AI use (or mentioning) at all. Knowing their staff, I have to assume they have to had at least the same standards as us. I remember years ago, they responded to a Bitcoin or whatever trouble they had and then they got praised for addressing it properly.
That's rare.
But ultimately, with other organizations who have a lot more power than us, especially those who are complete losers, all we could do is just watch their brands die.
Meanwhile, we always have a choice to just go outside and enjoy the sunlight, and touch grass, post some good memes or whatever magic you have built yourself on your PC or whatever. And even play some good games you actually like on your spare time.
We each make our own choices, and we stick with whatever we think it's good.
That's a mentally better arc I would say.
