February Update: Progress Update, Difficulty modes, and Future planning (OUTDATED)

Hey there,

During the previous post, we touched upon major progress on the game engine, and the significant art improvements made since then. Since then we have made significant additions, which we will touch on today.

Progress Update

Since the last update, the office has had most of its placeholder rooms replaced with more proper assets. Although there are not all currently final, they are very close to what is intended for the final release, and touchups may be done to them later on.

Difficulty Modes

A major addition that is being discussed for inclusion in the game is different difficulty modes you can play. Considering the gameplay is a lot more strategic and difficult compared to other fangames, the addition of this will give some options for those who may struggle with this difference in gameplay, and may allow for some replayability for some who would like to challenge themselves

(This is currently a rough draft of what is intended for some of these difficulty modes. Note that some of these things may not be final)

This chart does give some minor context for things in-game that it does plan to change. Some of these details will be given more context in the future, but as for now, take it as a bit of a tease of what's to come.

Future Planning

As of now, the team and I have started discussing ideas such as an eventual trailer to release in the future. Although there is no set release for said trailer, it will be one of the first times major gameplay will be shown, and will start to tease story elements for the game itself. There is also intention to eventually release a gameplay vid showing off some of the main game's gameplay in action.

We have also started work on starting to prototype the post-night segments to be in the game. While I won't discuss them too much now, these segments will be somewhat different compared to a lot of other post-night segments, so I wouldn't imagine seeing anything you've seen from other games here. We'll touch more on this later in development.

And that concludes this month's monthly update. Progress has been doing decently well for the past month, and with where things are heading, we'll probably have some new major stuff to share next month
