In Celebration 10 Years of Five Nights at Freddy's
I'm glad to announce the ACTUAL release of this game

I think... I miss making Devlogs...

I'm excited to post this devlog, I've been wanting this devlog to be released for a long time and it didn't happen due to a lack of motivation but I'm glad I did it again and this time it finally happened.

After 2 years of development, 32 changes, and 7 tries to develop the game. 2 years, I went through hell development and made it through.

But before that, I want to thank you for waiting patiently for this game to be released, following the game, and for your kind words.

I used the old title for one last look at the devlogs I have done so far. I made more than just 5, but that was just the small devlogs so that little thing isn't important anymore (except Real-Time Edition)

If you're new to Five Nights at Wally's, this game is a Supernatural Horror FNaF Fangame powered by Turbowarp, written and directed by no other than me.

Remember when I said I was going to release it unexpectedly? well, I changed my mind, since there was an important event for FNaF, which is the 10th Anniversary of the first Five Nights at Freddy's, so I have to plan it out.

The first plan was the drawing of the first teaser of FNaF 1, I tried but then it never happened. The second plan was my other game called "Rocky's Family Diner: Faith of Sinners" announcing a demo title, which you will see it soon the same day

This was my third and last announcement for my first FNaF Fangame, Five Nights at Wally's, finally revealing a release date for all around the world, all around the continents, all around countries, all around nations, all around towns, all around lands and overseas. But before that, How and when did it all start?

The Beginning

Let's go back to 2021, once I created Wally & Linda, I promised my old online friend that I would make the Fangame happen, that started as a joke first but then after a few months, I lost all of it until I realized GameJolt existed, that's how I started there.

My first time on GameJolt was in 2019, I never got used to it until that year, when there was an FNaF: SB event happening and I got it, for a few months, I started drawing the first concept of Wally Christopher, it was stupid but I'm proud of myself.

But then I soon asked myself, what if I made it happen, what if Wally Christopher existed in the real world, and so I did.

I started searching for which engine should I use for it, the first was, of course, Clickteam but I never paid and never understood how I developed there, the second was Unity but it got overused by my people, the third was Gamemaker Studio 2, just like Clickteam, I never understand how to developed there, and then there was Scratch, there was a few games with that engine there, so I have to use it.

Scratch Era

The first time developing the game, I might say it went well (no it's not, there are bugs everywhere), but I managed to model Wally which I used twice for Linda after her first concept, that's the problem, she looks nothing like a female bear. But before the improvement, I made the first Bunny Harolds model, which was fine at first but now I see he looks scary, what kind of people made an animatronic like this? Anyway, I remodeled Linda after a few months of modeling rooms, and now she looks like what she was, well... before I changed the jaw design on Linda, Wally, and Bunny.

I've drawn the office before I even made the animatronics mascots, drawn... not modeled. I removed the 90's phones before I decided the year took place in 2008.

Originally, it should have taken place in the late 2030s, I kid you not- Late 2030s when Evan Rodens was born the same year as me.

Back in development, the first try at developing was a main menu, it was gotta be like the FNaF main menu (of course), the button works but I don't know where to put but put it on top of the game screen. I modeled the newspaper in B&W style, the first version was unfinished due to motivation, but when I got my motivation back, I reworked that and made it look like a real newspaper, which you can see down below.

The second, third, and fourth try on development... well, let's say it stays the same. You might remember 5 Dev Streams I did last year, I almost didn't say anything about the demo and the full game, I said that it must release its demos in 2023, but that didn't age well didn't it? That Dev Streams was my 5th try on development, it went well at first, and after a few weeks, the same unfixable bug happened again, I almost gave up on developing,

Turbowarp Era

Ah, 2023, the year when I switched the engine from Scratch to Turbowarp, nothing changed at all but the aspect ratio changed from 4:3 to 16:9 to 1.85:1. This is 6th time I developed this project, I used the same assets from scratch and changed some of its assets a little bit. I made the second Official Trailer for the event but it didn't happen so I uploaded it myself, some previews I've used for the trailer are the 6th and 5th, I used them because I've run out of the gameplay and cinematics footage, I'm sure you noticed some of the footage are reused many times.

But then I got distracted and almost forgot about the project, because it reached the release date month and I wanted to promote the game one last time but then I got another idea in my mind, and that's the map expansion, that's why I added Breakroom there to make it more "real". I delayed the game again to this year and that's gonna be the last time I've shown you the year date.

The map expansion I'm talking about is my 7th and last, I've improved the office, the gameplay, and much more, so I could finish what I should've done for a long time, and you are looking at it right now

NEW SCREENSHOTS

the screenshots I'm about to show you are the new, improved, and final design for the restaurant, yes I've almost redesigned everything, even the characters that you can see earlier before I deleted them for the promotion, which you can see on the game page.

Here are the new screenshots:

Yup, that is all I can show you guys, I made them all by hand, like it or not, it doesn't matter because I am proud of what I've been working on.

Yes, this is the newspaper I talked about, and guess what I did? I reworked it again, so it could made it look like The New York Times newspaper. Besides that, this will be the last time Five Nights at Wally's is no longer in-development phase and has entered the completed phase.

Remember, this game STILL had bugs and glitches in the first version, so I'll try fixing it whenever I spot a bug/glitch.

The new release date is...

20240728_075051.png

August 10 for the 5th SpawnDay of Evan Games

For friday, August 9 is for Complete OSTs releases

Around August/September, Five Nights at Wally's released

Conclusion

For this conclusion, I will admit that'll be my last decision on Releasing the game, after 3 delays in 2022 and 2023. This is going to be the biggest 3 days for Wally and his family.

Even if it STILL doesn't meet the release date, don't worry, it'll released around August/September, but if it reaches October, then this game is canceled. Everything I've done and everything I do for this project will be gone, so keep your hopes up and I promise it's going to happen someday this month.

If the game was released, remind you again that it still has bugs and glitches, it'll update once per month.

And that's all for now, I hope it was worth the wait for Five Nights at Wally's to release, and Happy 10th Anniversary of Five Nights at Freddy's. Love you all and see you again on the 10th of August
