Hi, Jack here. Thank you all for following our game.

So here’s a few updates:

The title

First of all, to address the elephant in the room, yes, I’ve changed the title of the game from Spanky in: Super Bobcat 3D Blast RPG: Purrresident Evil! to Sulky Sad Bobcat and the Misfit Mascots.

Originally when I announced this project, back when it was going to be a Bubsy sequel, it was called Bubsy Bobcat in: Super Bubsy 3D Blast RPG: Purrresident Evil. Then when the Bubsy reboot was announced out of nowhere like a zombie rising from the grave, I slapped the name Spanky on everything and figured it’d make a fine enough working title until I came up with something.

So last night, I came up with something… Something that includes the other characters in the game, ties in the URL of the blog I made years ago that practically started everything, and conveys the tone and main idea of the game. So from now on, it will be called Sulky Sad Bobcat and the Misfit Mascots.

Getting back to work

Also, I wanted to tell you all that production will be picking back up now that my boy the anonymous programmer is done with commitments to other projects that he had to get done the last two months. As for me, I took the time to work some more on conceptual stuff for other projects and took a break from actually working on the game.

Switching to Unity

Also, we’re in the process of switching over to Unity instead of Game Maker Pro. Why? Not sure, but our boy the programmer says it won’t be much different, so there’s nothing to worry about. I think it was more of a preference on his end since that’s what he usually uses.

New songs!

Though while the programmer and I were taking a break more or less, my other boy James pumped out some new songs for the sound track. Check em out! I particularly love Sogai’s Tower.

The World of Sulky Sad Bobcat

I’m also moving forward with the world design. I have the whole layout of the main areas of the game drawn out, and I’ve gotta say, already this game is guaranteed to be bigger and better than the Bubsy reboot. ;3

This isn’t a porn game.

On the subject of dick jokes, there’s concern about this game being a porn game. Contrary to what parts of the plot might lead you to believe, it’s not. The closest it’ll come to it is stuff like that “SWF porn” meme and will be played largely as a dirty joke.

Lastly, I decided to make Spanky cuter and easier to draw to facilitate animation by playing with her basic shapes a bit.
