The first Five Nights at Nutty’s will always be something special to me. I see it as my first proper game I ever completed, and considering my track record of constantly cancelling things, that’s important to me. However, the game had obvious issues. The map was terrible, the grain was all over the place, the animatronics looked poor, the gameplay mechanics were boring and the memes were all over the place, making it hard to take the game seriously. I believe this all stems from one problem. Me.
Almost everything in FNAN 1 was made myself with little help from others. Sure, there are those who proposed ideas and beta tested for it and I was a bit lazy with the ambience music and hallway jumpscare sound, but everything else was all me. The models, the code, the sound design, the artwork, the teasers…all of them came from me. And this was its ultimate downfall. While I do believe I’m a jack of all traits, that also means I’m a master of nothing, and so things like the map took a down in quality because of it.
This time, I won’t be making the same mistake.
I’ve opened up a team for Five Nights at Nutty’s 2. The two beta testers of FNAN 1, Superlolzreddit(writer for Bonfim_BR’s Children) and megaskullgames(creator of a fan remake of POPGOES: Encore) have been promoted to full-on members of the team. I also hired a map modeller, Gamerguy95boi, to make the map for the game. Superlolz is writing the story and megaskull is giving feedback, although he will later be making renders and animations for the game. I’m also planning on hiring character modellers, concept artists and maybe musicians, as well as bringing back LegalMeme to reprise his role as Donald Acker.
This should allow Five Nights at Nutty’s 2 to become a much better game than the original. The plans are for it to be bigger, darker and more fun than FNAN 1. Of course, I’ll still be doing stuff, as I’m the one coding the game and I’ve made 3 of the animatronic models so far, but I’ll have a team to give feedback on these things and tell me what needs to be improved or fixed. I don’t think it will be cancelled, as the coding for the main parts of the game, the nights, are very close to being complete. I don’t have much to show off as I’m focusing on coding first then proper renders later, but I still think you can get some ideas from this teaser.
I hope you enjoy Five Nights at Nutty’s 2 when it releases later this year.
Night night.
