I know I made a Devlog like four days ago about this, but I just thought I’d make a more indepth update regarding FNAN 2.
So, the code for the game is roughly on the same level it was at pre-FreedomFreddy now. By that I mean the nights are fully coded except for three pieces of the mechanics, the audio and jumpscares. A menu has also been nearly fully coded, and it’s pretty neat. Honestly I’m a bit too proud of that menu. It’s nice. I’ll likely show what the game looked like pre-FF someday. It’s honestly a bit weird to look at now with the new updates I made to the game after I lost it all.
This doesn’t mean the game is close to complete, though. I still need to code things like the minigames(yeah, there’s minigames.), Extras, and a bunch of other stuff. I also need to replace every temporary texture, but I can’t do that yet because I don’t have finalized models.
Speaking of which, the main point behind this update is to introduce two people that are now on the FNAN 2 team:
TheDayOfPi | A close friend of mine. He’s gonna be working on concept art for the game, which he already has and it’s some good stuff. His job isn’t over yet though I think. I dunno, would he be willing to do concept art for the minigame maps? I should probably ask him.
Floppy the Fish | Honestly, Floppy wasn’t someone I expected to be hiring for FNAN 2, but she expressed interest in working on it and now will be testing the game as I develop it. She’s given some good notes so far, and I look forward to seeing her further notes and opinions on the game.
There’s also a modeller that was hired, but that’s kindof iffy right now. He might need to quit, so we may need to hire a new one. We’ll see.
However, the list isn’t complete yet. I’m still looking for voice actors (male or female) as well as sprite artists for the minigames. And also an optional composer. I still think we could manage without one, but it would help to have one. Wouldn’t be anything too complex, it would just be like a single tune. And also maybe ambience I dunno. I had to resort to Undertale music for ambience in FNAN 1. That’s kinda sad.
But, sad thing is, there isn’t anything new to tease yet. This is the thing with how I made FNAN 2. I focused on coding first, and am gonna focus on the graphics later. So I can’t really show anything new yet. Plus, school just rebegan for me and it’s Year 11, so that could be Hell. I’m also working on megaskullgames’ POPGOES Encore as its programmer, so that could slow things down as well. But, if July didn’t prove it, FNAN 2 isn’t being cancelled. Not by a long shot. This game’s gonna come out, and hopefully it should be something that can be enjoyed much more than the first game.
Oh, and for those who think they’ll be confused due to not knowing anything about FNAN 1’s story, don’t worry. I have a solution in the works.
Finally, to end it all off, here’s a redo of the first teaser to fix minor issues and make it much more readable. And trust me, once the models are finalised, a lot of interesting stuff’s gonna be teased. I hope you like what’s gonna be shown off in the near future.
