Fun Fact: It took me a year and a half to beat Sans for the first time :3

Why it took me a year and a half to beat Sans...

-------------------------

so, IN MY DEFENCE, i never had any prior experience to Undertale. Meaning, this was the very first Undertale battle i ever encountered, and beat, and i only got Undertale after i beat the sans fight. Also, i did it on a school computer.

it was the Bad Time Simulator, so i can say it wasnt exactly Undertale. it was the sans fight emulator made to practice for the fight. meaning, i never got the dialogue or spare stuff. also meaning, i got a few invincibility frames, (the frames you get when you use the cloudy glasses for the fight in Undertale) but, all of the fight glithes were patched for the Bad Time Simulator... so.... you know.

i remember when i got to the real sans fight after my first genocide run, thinking: "this is going to be easy", because by that point i no hit the first phase twice, did a few no heals, and stuff, on the bad time simulator, but the damage rate and inconsistencies (being that the bad time simulator has all the games bugs patched) in the real battle, sans absolutely destroyed me.

Where it all began

-------------------------

this was the only fight i didn't have to use a video to help me because i wasnt into that at the time, and i have to give credit to a few of my friends for playing the game, and letting me have a shot at it. (i sucked btw) but thats when it stuck with me. that moment, i was invested, so i had tried it a few more times thinking i would never be good enough at the fight because it was insanely difficult (makes sense seeing the background i didnt have with the game) but from that moment, i kept going slowly trying it every now and then until i became literally the most determined ive ever been in my life: To beat Sans. and after a year and a half, i did it. i finally beat him. and slapped my friend because i didnt know what to do with the energy it gave me with the shock. in the middle of band class to. (that last part is true btw i did actually slap my friend when i beat sans for the very first time.)

Additional notes

-------------------------

Because of this determination i had and still get when fighting Sans and his AUs, i think i can fight through the constant pain, and struggle and beat Shanghaivania as my 2nd or 3rd Sans AU ever. Killer!Sans (Lethal Deal) was my first Sans AU to beat, the BossHim version i mean. so it was absolute hell. (keep in mind this was my first Sans AU i ever fought and beat, and because it was a bosshim remake of Lethal Deal, it was... jeez.) so i did the same thing as i did with sans. i fought every now and then and overtime, i got better and better. until i beat it. (it took me a few weeks at most to beat.)

also, puns semi intended.

favorite part about game development is the idea that firstly, you can create worlds at will & have fun with them, but i also like when people just make something up and that becomes something in your brain like, "Hey, i can make that!" its cool

I fear this image is telling the truth. I did do and say that. for reference, I had a piece of pizza in my room, that was 3 days old mind you, my cat ate all of the cheese off of it, so i took it, as it was stale, and hit it on my head, shattering it :3

yeah should be good

So I did the math... True InkTale will be a 23 minute fight... Yeah, based on the playlist of music I made for it, it came to around that time so to anybody who plays it all the way through, especially in Hard Mode, good luck, you're gonna need it.

as i said, i only make Undertale fan games with Scratch. So therefore, True InkTale is being developed on it.

I stopped using backdrops as broadcast blocks because well... thats not how backdrop blocks are supposed to be used. and overtime it gets more complicated to develop. although, it makes things a lot less laggy! yes this is some of my oldest code

i have the habit of not planning ahead for anything game development wise (like, not planning any attack patterns or dialogue) and just end up going with the flow. but that usually works out for me.
