I've been on Gamejolt for a long time, and it's obvious I don't aim on going anywhere else when it comes to sharing with my community, publishing fangames games, or just overall sharing my side hobbies & interests. Like all things, Gamejolt isn't perfect, but it can strive to be if it can implement various features to help with a users experience, especially newcomers or targeted creators by trolls (especially ban evaders).

Whether what I'll be suggesting is already in the works or not at all brought to light with the programmers for the site (or maybe things I will say are already implemented but overlooked), the purpose of this post is what I think can help the site in terms of security and overall experience.

Security + Privacy

• 2 Step Verification: This one was already a longshot coming, but like a lot of sites, 2 Step Verification is crucial to ensuring a users account isn't compromised to hackers nowadays, especially when it comes to bigger and targeted creators, any compromise to their account can result in losing years of history with the site and will end up making people lost trust in Gamejolt's security measures.

• Video-Auto Play Toggling: I don't use Gamejolt Client/App, so I don't know if anything on there will be different compared to the website. But from my experience of digging around the settings for my account, the existence of a Video Auto Player seems nearly lackluster, and from my experience of returning trolls on the website when attempting to block them, I feel like a video auto-player is necessary for users who are easily screamish. I have had my fair share of coming across Gore, Pornography, or overall NSFW related videos auto-playing on a users profile, not helpful with the sound auto-playing as well. A video auto-player can help avoid screamish videos or anything that can containing disturbing content to a user.

• Block User by Comment Interaction: Blocking only by going to the users profile is how most cases can tie into my recent idea, the interaction feature with comments only include 4 options. If Blocking the user is connected with the Report Comment feature, then I do apologise for missing that, or maybe have it as a separate feature as well. Interested in your feedback to this one.

Slice of Life improvements

• Editing Posts to add Communities: I've had my fair share of accidentally posting something without adding it to the related community, and it is kind of a shame that I can't go back to the post through edit just to add the right communities, but only by realm? Surely you should be allowed to do the same for communities, if that were the case

• Community Group Chats?: I'm not too sure if Firesides are still a thing or if they can be made publicly within a community instead of just the community owner. But maybe Community Group Chats would be a good way for large communities to come together in and talk real-time if they're in need of any tips for a game, casually talk or share pictures and art, or maybe even uploading custom emotes for chatters to use like Twitch/YouTube chats. Most would say Discord for this sort of matter, but not everyone is capable of Discord access, and allows Communities to be used more.
