Howdy there, and a Happy Halloween to everyone!

In the spirit of the spooky season, we thought we’d post a status update showcasing brand new content from the demo. While we’ve been pretty busy with school, work, and life in general, we’ve still been hard at work working on the demo whenever possible!

Over the past few months, we’ve showcased some less major updates on our Discord and Tumblr platforms, where we post semi-frequent status updates and answer questions!

For instance, some of the things we’ve shown off include…

Some updated Temmie sprites for the game’s introduction! These were made by one of our former members, Frigadae, who also did the art for all of the intro panels! While nothing major, it was a nice little touch-up for some of the game’s older artwork.

Around mid-August, I came across an old concept I had made for a potential Alphys design! We had toyed with the idea of her sporting samurai-esque armor, as well as Crystal Springs resembling the Japanese Edo Period. Ultimately, though, these ideas were scrapped long ago. Our current Alphys design has been finalized for quite some time, and we don’t plan on changing it.

The Starlight Savior himself, Crossbones! In the future, we plan on having a series of official Crossbones Comics that will exist as online comics, in-game collectables, or both! Regardless of what we decide to go with, here’s an example of a Crossbones comic book cover made by one of our artists, Tmntleo15!

And now, on to the main content of the update…!

Introducing: menu themes! Depending on the location you SAVE your game in, the scrolling parallax background and the optional border (if set to dynamic) of the main menu will change accordingly! Upon starting up the game for the first time, you’ll get the sepia theme.

Brand new screenshots of Ruined Home! For the longest time, most of our screenshots have mainly showcased the beginning areas of Ruined Home. We’ve gone long enough only showing those off, and so here are finally more previews of our entirely new level design, featuring brand new puzzles!

Speaking of entirely new level design...

Welcome to The Sewer! These ancient canals play a huge part in the transportation of water throughout Ruined Home. While this won’t be an area you visit for too long, it’s sure to leave an impact because of an entirely new event sequence that lies within it.

It’s sure left an impact on Chara, for one! It seems they’ve learned the importance of staying hydrated! Whether they like it or not...

Of course, we haven’t forgotten about these guys: The Greasers! We recently updated their battle sprites--a complete overhaul to Aaxel and Moldrick, and some improvements to Norman.

These brawling baddies are sure to pack a punch! ...Since Aaxel is the only one with fists...

We haven’t said too much regarding The Greasers’ role in TS!Underswap. All we’re willing to say publicly is that these guys are a miniboss encountered later on in an entirely new section of Ruined Home. One that’s after the sewer, too!

Oh! Um... that’s... actually all we have for now, unfortunately!

We planned for this progress report to showcase some more content, like another teaser video. But since everyone on the team has been pretty busy lately, we just haven’t had the time to get a lot of the assets for each thing done.

Don't worry, though! You can expect a brand new teaser video in the very near future! Just... not right now!
