We'll start with the bad one, well it might not be a bad news for some but i might start the project all over again for the second time, and i have some pretty good reasons to do so. When i say "i might" it means that if i see during the developpement that it's not worth the effort i'll go back to the actual version.
Now here are the explainations :
First of all i ran into some problems with the actual architecture of the project (yes, again), and i realized i didn't planned it enough. Sometimes the tools i had made were just quirky to work with in some situations.
The game has also some performance issues, mainly caused by the graphics, but also by the actual code, for exemple one of the reasons might be physics based doors and generally physics based openable things.
I had touched the graphics parameters so much that the game had some weird annoying visual artefacts.
Also, and those good news are some of the reasons explaining the bad one, but i might have a tech artist to work with me on the project ! also i have so many new ideas for the gameplay that would need a big rewrite of the code that i think it would be better to start all over again.
And finally i learned a lot about sound design recently that i really want to make the sounds in the fangame as immersive as possible, and that's why the first thing that i'll develop are rigid body physics sounds, that means objects will have unique sounds when they collide with something, when they roll or when they slide, etc...
For the next few days i'll develop this sound system, that will be reusable and that i will publish for free and make open source (probably), and i'm gonna plan every single things that i'll make in the game, and how i'll make it, to make sure this doesn't happend again.
I'll have some questions for you for the next few days so stay tuned, and have a good evening !
