Papa Raziel here and I am here to teach you the steps to do my Death Metal vocals. Now for this I taught myself believe it or not and for me turning 18 in a few months it's not too bad. But anyways here are the steps for doing them.
Loosen up the vocals cords
Now what I did to start off was to loosen up my vocals cords by drinking some water, most people will gargle some warm salt water in the back of their throat because it loosens up vocal cords a lot.
2. Practice
So number to is to practice singing in your normal voice some just to looser the vocal cords a little more, start by singing a song you like and practice singing that song for a little bit of time.
3.Starting the Death Growl
So to start with the Death Growl what I did was I took a deep breath in and held that breath and started to make some test noises out of the back of my throat, start doing the noises quietly then when you think it sounds good get louder and louder. (Note: Do Not try to scream with that back of your throat loudly, if your throat starts to hurt then stop, the back of your throat is supposed to vibrate when singing but not hurt, so go as loud as you can without it hurting, I usually do my vocals quietly and they sound louder.
4. Singing a song
No if you feel comfortable start by singing a song, try not to make it a fast song just something you can start off by singing. If you are practicing and your voice is still hurting then I would recommend drinking some tea with honey in it or a warm drink and resting your voice for a few days then trying again.
