This week, along with a ton of refactoring work and paying down technical debt, we also started experimenting with increasing the gameplay area in Fruit Crawler. Previously, the levels were all one-screen in size. This has been working fine up until now, but we want a bit more room to design bigger puzzles. The background will also have to be changed, because most of it is dark and the top and bottom edges cut off abruptly. Designing a background that won’t distract from the game pieces is going to be a difficult task, but we have a few ideas to try out.
