After almost a month since release, Zombiez has been well received. However, one of the chief complaints was lag. This was due to the amount of zombies on-screen. With this update, I have completely re-written the game’s code to fix how the engine handles object creation, which should increase performance by up to 150-200%! There have also been a few other things that have been addressed:
Drop rate for health and ammo pick-ups is more balanced. Before, you would have a streak of 5-10 health drops, and then 5-10 ammo drops, and then that loop would repeat throughout the remainder of the game. Now, the ratio is more 2:2, so it is easier to stay alive and remain loaded!
Zombie health has been adjusted to make the game more managable, while still remaining fun and challenging due to the aforementioned health and ammo adjustments.
Added a new “secret” boss level. Unlocking it is up to you to find out!
