I have a story for you guys. not a true one though. its my original backstory for my dream game: Sun Gazed

An RPG where you seek happieness for the first time ever, and to do this, you must go find the sun. but, to do so, you must leave home, Forever.

Before it begins, i would like to clarify something:

Her name is entirely up to you. though i was thinking 'Emma' at the time and if you want you can go with that.

THE FULL IDEA OF THE GAME AND ALL THAT ARE FOUND AT THE END OF THE STORY!

There was a very important city that held great powers. But, a war broke out around the world. And the city was in danger. So, the king decided to bring all of the mages together, and together, they made a force-field that could protect them from all intruders. But, there were three flaws in the force-field… the first flaw is that it blocks their only source of magic, “The Sun.” The second flaw in the barrier, is that all of the happiness was sapped from the entire city. The third and final flaw is that the people inside the barrier can leave, but NEVER return. This lasted for 23 years, until one day, in one decision, one person changed the world forever.

A 23 year old woman had dreamed of seeing the sun and feeling happy for the first time. So she left her homeland to venture out into the wilderness in search of the sun…

The first obstacle on her journey was the new terrain she had to cross through. The Forest. She had only ever heard of this place, but she never imagined that she would be standing at the entrance to a brand new world herself. She decided to take out her notes that held her years of research and studies. The book said to take notice of her surroundings and use them as landmarks to give her an idea as to where she was. With her pocket knife in her hand, she made marks on the trees every few steps so she had a straight path back to the barrier. after several hours of just wandering through the deep forest, she saw it. The long stretch of field and plains ahead. She ran toward the open land and set up a small tent and started a fire as she was very tired and was lightly wounded from many thorned bushes from her long travel.

As she woke up, most of the thorns that stuck in her body from the day before have fallen off. She sat up from her tent, started the small fire back up and put some food above the flames. She pulled the rest of the thorns from herself while the food was cooking.

THE BACKSTORY TO THIS BACKSTORY

it was for a school project a few years ago.

it was based off of my oldest dream game: Sun Gazed. i wanted to develop it like, 9 months ago when i gained some interest in actually getting up, and truly attempting game development, but found it as unrealistic for my skill level at the time.. i hope i can return to it in the future and make my dream game real one day.

as i said, i only make Undertale fan games with Scratch. So therefore, True InkTale is being developed on it.

favorite part about game development is the idea that firstly, you can create worlds at will & have fun with them, but i also like when people just make something up and that becomes something in your brain like, "Hey, i can make that!" its cool

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 6 celebrates @Narwhalnut ! They program bugs (in the game Insectile)! We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: What dev habit helps you the most?

My favorite kind of hell. Majora's Mask. A very dark game as you are a freakin 10 year old trying to stop the moon from crashing down to earth in 3 days. having to find the four giant thingies, to stop the moon, and all, its cool.

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 4 celebrates @ElPichon ! They're just a bird who likes to draw! They're also the developer behind The Bunny Graveyard II and Chunky JUMP!. We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: How Did You Learn Game Dev?

the game that made me want to start game development was the BossHim InkSans fight, i was watching Merg play it, and fun fact, that night i made my GJ account. Thank You @BossHim for making such a wonderful & hard ass game!

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 5 celebrates @ExpoDev ! He's the founder of PMH Interactive and is working on The Obsessive Shadow and more. We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: What keeps you making games when it gets tough?

I stopped using backdrops as broadcast blocks because well... thats not how backdrop blocks are supposed to be used. and overtime it gets more complicated to develop. although, it makes things a lot less laggy! yes this is some of my oldest code
