Hello! It's been a while since I last shared any updates, and I wanted to let you all know what I'm currently working on and what my future plans are.
Before I tell you about what I'm doing now, you need a little context. When I was younger and had zero experience in the video game development scene, I made a FNaF fangame called "Those Nights with Chop the Turtle" on an account that's now deleted – and hopefully never remembered! What can I say, I was young, and there came a point when my adult life got messy, and I preferred to turn the page and start fresh. My main idea when creating this account was to move on to original games, but I've realized that I have my own spark for my projects, and doing the occasional fangame wouldn't be bad.
When I finished the Definitive Edition of The Return to Freddy's Experience and its updates, I thought about moving on to a more ambitious title. There are some images of this on my GameJolt. Basically, I was planning for it to be another FNaF fangame, but I wanted to take it in a more episodic design, similar to my favorite game: Bendy and the Ink Machine. However, I soon realized, thankfully, that it was too ambitious for a single person and quite a lot for my second public project on this account. So, I started thinking about something I could actually do.
Then I remembered my first fangame, the one I mentioned earlier, and I thought it would be great to reboot it, to do it now that I have much more experience. So, I started modeling the characters, designing the stage layout from scratch, and began creating it in Unity (my preferred engine). I've reused some assets from the aforementioned project, which, by the way, could be considered canceled, but I don't rule out the idea of reviving it if I get some help. So, that's what I'm working on, but what's it about? Let me explain.
The world of this game could be described as strange. It's a universe without souls, purple guys, or murders; it's more similar, so to speak, to the SCP universe. A world of experiments, creatures, etc. In this universe, William exists, but he's not the villain of the story. He was a subject of experimentation at the hands of someone who, for plot reasons, I prefer to keep hidden until the game comes out, to maintain the surprise. What was their goal? To create something capable of making the animatronics seem alive, but it didn't go so well. William is turned into a doppelganger amalgamation, and you can imagine the rest. I think it's an interesting concept if developed well, so stay tuned for news I'll be posting.
And what are my plans for the future?
Well, I'm not entirely sure, but there's a comment that has stuck in my mind about The Return to Freddy's Experience and its content. I've been thinking that maybe, just maybe, it would be good to make a complete version, so to speak. And from that point on, from an artistic point of view, I prefer to let myself be inspired and create, rather than forcing myself to work on something with no motivation or inspiration.
