Im bored so I thought I'd mention this, sorry if this is irrelevant it's really late I'm not thinking clearly


I'm working on a game similar to the board game 'Axis and Allies', the premise is you use strategy to destroy your opponents, as well as a lot of smaller details sprinkled around. Currently I have no art, but on the bright side it'll work fine without, it'll just look stupid-

I'm thinking that you'll start by picking a load out, probably like economy style (capitalist, communist, imperialist?) and each gives different benefits, just to add another element to switch it up. You get a set amount of income at the end of every round, not a large amount, but you can increase it by capturing points that'll represent something like a forest or oil deposit or whatever. You use the income to buy troops which all work differently and have different stat sets:

-Vehicles have longer range than infantry

-Airborn vehicles can only stay in the air for a set amount of time

-All vehicles need to be refueled, either by a convoy or at a controlled point

-Infantry have more resources than vehicles (they last longer without needing more 'fuel')

-All troops can be compacted, so instead of two helicopter markers you'd have one heli marker with two helos being represented

-All troops have an experience level, which basically multiplies the damage

-Damage is dealt per troop instead of a static value, for example if a plane attacks an infantry unit it will not deal like twenty damage, it would kill twenty soldiers

-Obviously there are different kinds of infantry, helos, planes- they also have unique stats, for example a bomber would have longer range and would be very good against ground targets, but much weaker against air targets, while a fighter would have a longer range but decent damage to both targets

Gameplay might be simultaneous, as in you'd project all your moves at the same time as the enemy, and then once you were both ready then it'd move them all at the same time? Might be too complicated though

Sorry if you were hoping for something intelligible, I've been thinking that out for a while and it's pretty complex... basically you need to refuel everything, it gets stronger after every survived battle, and they all do different things best
