context, btw: this game is a survival game that takes place in an infinite winter.
first thing (it's a screenshot, since i already said this to some guys on discord and i dont feel like copypasting it):

(i actually really like the "Jewel Cocktail" idea, tho)
another thing: im also working on a Hypothermia mechanic, and im wondering how long it should take to go from being at Hypothermia Level 0 (HT 0, the normal body temp, 98 degrees F in body temp) to Hypothermia Level 5 (HT V, death, 60 degrees F in body temp), excluding the influence of winter gear, like coats and such, and other effects. If the days last about half an hour, then I might make it take 3 minutes of being outside, because I want to be able to make a "Nightmare Difficulty" where you don't start with a coat or any winter gear, so it needs to be possible to actually be able to survive for a little bit without the winter gear. Then again, I could also make the days last longer and increase the time for HT to set in, but I don't know if people will like it if the days take an hour or more (these times are just for if you don't sleep during the night, the full 24 hour period). Granted, longer days could provide a more unique experience compared to other survival games (like, maybe a 2.4 hour day/night cycle instead of a 24 minute day/night cycle, it's a big time commitment, but leads into the feeling of actually being in an eternal tundra with nothing else to do but find out how to survive), but idk how people would react to it.
Idk im just spewing thoughts, feel free to give me your opinions or feedback on this.
