Please take the time to read this post. It is a little long but it is worth the read. Thank you.
Some would expect a little more from a seemingly fully functional group of game developers with years of work put into a game. But as time tells history would seem to repeat itself and after a long silence I think I'm ready to give an update.
For those who've been sticking with 'us' since the beggining, you'd know about @Sillinco . Once upon a time, me, @LokSeven
, was a part of this development team (@Sillinco
) and we started working on Ultimate Custom Night 2. The original game can be found here: https://gamejolt.com/games/olducn2/414434
On 4/20/2019, we started a very, very long journey of game development for UCN 2. Every single person who had worked along side me and Zman, had very big hopes and plans for this game. I remember nights from 2 years ago, of us sitting in a Discord call just talking about what we wanted to do with this game.
We'd go on and on and on about different features, teasers, characters, mechanics, everything you could imagine ALL NIGHT. We'd commit many many nights into working on a game full of passion.
And as time went on with development our gamejolt page went pretty viral- 130k views, tons of comments, pretty much anything you could want when working on a game. We started releasing voice acting applications, beta testing applications, polls, teasers, and the community we had loved it.
Why am I telling a sob story to you all for no reason after a year of silence? I want to go into more context about why we had to quit all this; quit seemingly two times in a row.
If you were around in 2019 to read the goodbye post I posted I told a vague story about drama within our group. I wrote this post in a fit of anger whilst trying to keep it professional. I quote myself saying "Had the game had a better dev team, I bet it would be finished by now".
I didn't really mean anything I said. I've talked with people from the Sillinco group and we've cleared the air mostly. For the sake of a certain persons confidentiality, I won't go into details on exactly what happened but the choice of one person and his actions made a large dispute to the point two sections of the group started claiming ownership of the game.
We all worked hard on UCN 2. But we just couldn't agree if we wanted to keep this said person in the development team, and it broke everything. Thus, I logged into the @Sillinco account and posted that goodbye in the midst of our arguing, and it just fueled it even more. There are multiple people from the Sillinco team furious at me and other friends for trying to continue this project without them, claiming I took their work.
Thats why on the behalf of all of the few of us, we put together this megapost to serve as an apology and to say this:
We will not continue work on Ultimate Custom Night 2.
@TeamAbrevation however is still together, and after settling old relationships we're ready to continue on our own thing without the rest of @Sillinco
with us.
This may not be the update you were looking for, but this is the best outcome for all of us and people involved with Sillinco. Please understand.
I hope you had a happy halloween and stay with us for another FNaF related project.
Next up
Withered Freddy concept! We'll be posting these character concepts for a while, so stay tuned. We have some super interesting stuff in store.
New thumbnail. Very epic, 10/10.
Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.
Enemies can also suddenly spawn through Realm Rifts. These Rift Spawns are going to be stronger than the ones wandering around. TBD on the enemies... #screenshotsaturday #godstear #madewithunity
Quantum precognition is one of the most powerful cards. End game cards & equipment. Demo/alpha build boss is no match for this deck.
So here's the first of the zodiac signs i will make for the next weeks.
In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.
In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
Spaaaace~
These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)
Drawn in Piskel using my mouse. Whaddya think?
I worked so hard to get all four of them to the end safely, but then...
