I didn't answer my own question lmao, been replaying Mega Man X1-4 a bunch (really fun games), Mega Man X6 (lmao), Shovel Knight, trying to 100% Super Mario Sunshine, and a little bit of Blaster Master Zero.

I'm here to tell you that I have lots of good news regarding SUBCON.FDS, first, my old computer, the one with the cracked screen? While it's certainly still cracked, I found a way for the screen to be visible despite not working on the computer itself.
