My idea for Altertale Papyrus is that he has never killed any human himself and he is kind but he has a deputy that doesn't have the same mind and Papyrus hardly manages with that.
Example:

- Papyrus:

"Greetings human!
You have succesfully made your way into my castle unharmed!
I hope my puzzles were no trouble for you and you enjoyed solving them!
How about a cup of tea?"

- His deputy (idk who yet):

King..you're supposed to fight the human now, they don't have good intentions.
(Then Papyrus believes his deputy and fights Frisk. If it's a genocide deputy isn't even lying.)

One thing has caught my attention, Sans could be either: a) firing up Frisk to kill Asgore

b) really believing Asgore would destroy humanity with 7 souls

c) wanting Frisk to actually give up on fighting Asgore and stay in The Underground (manipulation)
