Welcome to the November 16th, 2023 edition of the Leftory Custom Night Devlog!
This one was meant to come out yesterday, November 15th, but sadly I was lazy.
Here's 4 features coming to the game in the next major update, Version 0.6.0!
1/4: Overhauled Ink Demon mechanic!
Bendy has a brand new mechanic in LCN. Previously, a couple of Bendy plushies spawned in the cameras whenever you opened them, and you had to hover over them to get rid of them and fend him off. This was boring and didn't really have anything to do with the Ink Demon though, so he has a completely new mechanic now!
Every now and then, he will attempt to enter the office through the vents, flooding the room. Text will appear, telling you he's near. You then have to put an Audrey plushie in a locker. So basically this is just Bendy's mechanic in Bendy and the Dark Revival, which by the way just turned one year old today! Or... yesterday.
2/4: Overhauled Zach mechanic!
That's right! Zach also has a new mechanic, although it's pretty similar to his old one. Previously he appeared on set intervals - which you had to figure out all by yourself by using LiveSplit, very unintuitive - and you had to switch the closed door for a few seconds to get rid of him. Now it's pretty obvious when he shows up because there's a funny sequence where Hank from Baking Bread tells you you're a sussy baka! Also, he leaves immediately after you switch the door.
3/4: The Chosen One
Although three new characters were featured in the last Devlog, there are actually four (Monika is a secret character, the other three are part of the roster.)
The Chosen One will sometimes (I bound a key to spawn him manually in the video, that's not how he actually spawns in-game) appear and fire a flame at your cursor, attempting to destroy it, for some reason. You must quickly dodge the flame, otherwise your mouse cursor will be burned, and you will no longer be able to interact with anything with your mouse temporarily.
4/4: New Camera Easter Eggs and UI
The cameras now house a ton of easter eggs, such as Super Brainz from PvZ Heroes, the famous developer Ofir Gabay, some cute cats and dogs, and... is that Bill Nye the Science Guy?
Also, some buttons have been made bigger, like the Sun Generator one, so they are easier to read and, y'know, press.
Alright, that's all for today! Version 0.6.0 will probably come out in around two weeks, give or take. Until then, uhh... probably don't play the Gamejolt version? Developing 0.6.0 and overhauling a bunch of mechanics (not just the ones I showed in this Devlog, there's actually a lot more!) has made me realize how poorly designed and balanced the current version is, in comparison. Hopefully there are no more mechanics to overhaul after this update, and everything feels nice.
Okay, see you next week!
