So, as we know from my posts about Daniels and Jonathans personalities. Daniel being the cheerful one and Jonathan being opposite of that but..

Before they met, this was the total opposite; Jonathan was shy and playful, cheerful meanwhile Daniel was more of a rude person who would get annoyed easily despite looking softer.

Daniel slowly has became a softie over the time while Jonathan got ruined by his parents who told him hes too old to be acting like that and that he shouldn't be too soft

Jonathan now is scared of expressing his true emotions and the ones who make him weak, But despite the fact he is still chill, actually soft and awkward a lot around Daniel

Jonathan might seem rude af, but he wouldn't hurt you with words unless he disliked you to the point where he would, and Daniel is actually most likely to jump you when angry /silly

And the Truth is that Daniel is cheerful when hes in a horrible state and he might seem sad while he is feeling alright, for some reason he expresses his emotions the opposite way and Jonathan just expresses his negative emotions towards people carrying his mothers words telling him hes gonna die If hes gonna continue being this way (so soft and kind towards EVERYONE)

Jonathan spends his day mostly trying to understand Dani, sometimes his personality slips out and he becomes like cheerful Dani but then locks in and tries to act like he didnt break off character around him
