Little update of everything:
Portals are tough to make, and it's taken a few days to figure it out. I had decided to take a short break from the complexity and got wrapped up making a tiny maze game. It's pretty fun :)
Just put this sprite in the game and it turned out pretty well. I'm going to try to put a restart button on the fail screen. fingers crossed that it works!
