Literal Pinball - Devlog 4-18-2021

What's up, folks! So like I said in the last devlog, I've got something unique for you here - Pinball!

I wanted to add something unique to the city level I'm creating, and keeping with the night-life theme I added pinball as a kind of family-friendly casino allusion. It took me a while to create since it's practically like creating another game, but I've got the rough version to show you all today.

We've got all the classics: Flippers, bumpers, a score board. The objective is to get 10,000 points and then you are rewarded with a collectable. Here's the entrance to the building:

And here's the plunger:

It's not much of a challenge, but I think it's a fun little diversion that adds some diversity to the level.

I've mostly been working on pinball, but I still do have some more traditional gameplay to show you all. Here's the path that leads to pinball:

A bit basic, but keeps with the original spirit of rolling fast. And here we have a separate platforming challenge which leads to a collectable:

The new level is coming along nicely, and should be finished soon. Then I'll just have the tutorial, hub, menus, and sounds. Looks like a lot, but they should only take a fraction of the time these levels have. Thanks for reading!

Here's the beach level from my #IndieGame #Platformer Marble Mania. It's boardwalk themed, so has lots of water and Ferris wheels. Probably the hardest of the 3 levels.

New Aesthetics - Devlog 3-29-2021

Marble Mania will finally release today! I wanted to show off the hub, it keeps track of your progress with a statue that builds as you complete levels.

Reliable Reactors Co. is launched! Made this game in 48 hours for Ludum Dare. Was a real challenge, but I managed to barely scrape by the deadline. You play as a power plant worker trying to regulate an unstable reactor.

Won't be able to work on this for a few days due to vacation - Here's a sneak peak of the new level to tide you over

Been working on a Tetris clone recently, mostly for my own learning. I hope to make it very customizable - custom block skins/rotation modes/drop speed/etc.

Thanks for 50+ downloads! I'm very happy with how Marble Mania has performed and I hope you've all been enjoying it.
