Light Quest System Inspired by Deltarune
Hello! I’m currently working on an indie game project and I’m looking for a programmer to help develop core gameplay systems using Godot Engine 3.7. Both beginners and experienced developers are welcome. The main focus is creating light quests inspired by Deltarune—narrative-driven, humorous, character-focused quests that are simple in structure but meaningful in story and player choice.
For beginners, this is a great opportunity to learn by doing, improve your GDScript skills, and work on real gameplay systems such as dialogue, quest flow, and events. For more experienced programmers, there is room to design clean, scalable systems and experiment with flexible quest structures.
The project involves game logic such as variables, flags, triggers, simple state machines, dialogue systems, and quest progression. Experience with RPG-style mechanics, interactions, events, or basic UI integration is a plus—but not required. What matters most is willingness to learn, collaborate, and improve.
The quest system is meant to feel light and flexible, not rigid or overly complex. Quests may involve talking to NPCs, making small choices, triggering funny or emotional moments, and affecting future dialogue or events. Not every quest requires combat; many are solved through exploration, interaction, or simple decisions, similar to how Deltarune handles its world.
This project values communication, creativity, and passion for storytelling. The code doesn’t need to be perfect from day one—we can refine and improve it together. Feedback, idea-sharing, and collaboration are encouraged.
If you enjoy indie RPGs, narrative design, or games like Deltarune or Undertale, and want to create fun, meaningful interactions—whether you’re just starting with Godot or already experienced—you’ll fit well in this project.
If you’re interested, feel free to reply with your experience level, examples of work (if any), or simply your motivation to join. Let’s build something charming together.
