this took a bit, im surprised darcky was patient enough to wait a month
here's what i thought of while making each:
Darcky is Darcky. i think he likes editing short videos and dreams to become a voice actor, so i added a mic and film tape :3
from what i read, Zetsubo seems to be this mysterious character, seen by a mortal once per forever. that's why i made him look like he's sneaking somewhere. but that's not entirely visible on the case
Sara i understood to detonate every time she sneezes without her gloves, so i made her look for them. originally i even planned there to be an explosion or fire in the background, with zetsubo actually stealing the gloves. but i couldn't make either look right ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i understood Ayden to be a cold character that would get into any deadly fight. i felt like putting him onto gun's reflection would be fitting
THE RENDERING (boooriiiiing...)
technical side of things is also interesting i think.. at least to me
i knew that i coudln't cut four images like this in the costume editor, so i wrote a little code >:3
first i rendered it. i actually did a program before that i used for a lot of my vector art posts, all that are in square format. it renders an image in a resolution a little under 6000x6000. it wasn't that hard to make as it seems tho, love2d has builtin support for encoding pngs and there is a library called "Tove" for rendering svgs. the program really just crops the red border
second step is to make a mask for each, a stencil. i did those from this colorcoded case:

i did them with a simple shader. those are a piece code for gpus to process an image. it executes the piece of code for every pixel simultaneously
here's the important bit from it. this is for the blue color

then i made myself a short program to move stuff around
now, isnt manipulating 6k images heavy on a pc?

... ye a tiny bit
