Merry Christmas to everyone! Demo 4.0 is finally public on Windows!

Sonic Moon Demo 4.0 Released! Playthough with Modern Sonic
Finally! Anyone who is interested can play the new demo of my Sonic x Sailor Moon fan game! I decided for this quick playthrough to do it with Modern Sonic. ...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPw_EUiEexI

This demo includes:

  • Five playable zones, including a secret sneak-peak at zone six.

  • Seven playable characters.

  • Six summonable Sailor Senshi to help the player on their journey.

  • Seven Special Stages and seven Super Stages.

    • Every act of every zone features one hidden teleporter to the Special/Super Stages.

  • Super and Hyper forms.

  • Several options, including a rough key configurator, adjustable speed (60Hz, 50Hz speeds), screen sizes as well as toggleable screen shader and sprite flicker.

  • A leaderboard.

  • Save data so you don’t have to complete the demo in one run.

  • English and (work-in-progress) Brazilian Portuguese languages.

There are still a lot of things in this game I need to complete. Game development is time-consuming, challenging and tedious after all. Please let me know of any glitches, crashes or just general issues. I'm very certain they'll crop up and hopefully I can fix them when I'm not busy. It is Christmas after all.

The downloadable zip file conatains a PDF document that I recommend you read. It has a list of controls as well as some notes about possible issues I intend on fixing when I'm able to.

For now, I hope everyone can get an nice taste of what's to come, especially since it has been over a year since the last release. Where does time go?

I redrew the key art again and I'm quite happy with how it's turned out this time. Also, here's the logo. Hopefully, I can show a W.I.P instruction manual soon.

Also, thank you very much for 700 followers! I can't believe it's continued to grow, somehow.

Decided to redo the art. I prefer drawing them like this (smaller, multiple drawings per sheet). What do you think?

Random Sonic and Sailor Jupiter footage. I've coded all of her combo moves so all I really need to do to complete her is finish her sprites.

Also, happy birthday Sonic! It's a bit late I must admit. I swear I'm never on time with birthday celebrations.

I can't believe this project has hit 400+ followers (my own account event hit 200+)! Thank you all!

More in the article:

In the lead up to Demo 4, here's Soundwave Star Zone Act 1 which can be accessed via Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Button 1 running in 50Hz mode.

Important stuff in the article below.

I'm currently in the stages of re-drawing the title screen. The logo has been shrunken a bit and both Sonic AND Sailor Moon are on the title.

Here's a look at another mini-game, one that's more akin to golf (or SNOLF, I suppose), except with an upside-down parasol.

Also, special thanks to Creative Araya for providing some more accurate translations to Brazilian Portuguese.

3rd W.I.P screenshot of the Sonic Moon airbrushed art. I'll explain a bit about how I came to this design below:

Before I go to bed before Christmas, I figured I'd share a quick update. Don't worry, this project isn't dead but it has been a LOOOOOOONG time since I made any update.

I drew a piece of artwork for the project. I hope to do more of these. They'll be perfect for the instruction manual (as well as thumbnails for YouTube playthroughs).
