Another Halloween Backstage proposal! This time, instead of being a homage to the original games, it's a detective mini-game, taking approximately 10-15 minutes of gameplay to complete! I'm gonna give a quick synopsis of what came to mind.

Introduction (skippable in-game)

"The name's Puppet. But everybody calls me Marionette Puppet. Or just Marionette... ah, screw this, it doesn't matter. What matters is I've always had a longing for the truth and for vengeance. Lately, though, some of my friends have been hiding something scary. Something big. I know this, my senses are tingling. I'm a PI, after all. And I don't like it when they're not talking to me.

I've recently been to one of those fancy parties, you know? The kind that has to say: "I'm richer than you, deal with it.", with all those snazzy fountains with chocolate, those golden statues everywhere and the pop readily available (oh, how I like my soda pop! I prefer it on the rocks, but it's good in a punch bowl too). The kind that creates... envy. A dangerous emotion.

So I was invited, because I'm a good friend of the host. We call her Mangle. Or him Mangle. I don't know, I never cared enough to ask. Poor fella, though. Body got fazzed up by a bunch of kids. Took it real badly. Of course, I found out who those kids were, following her request and her money. They took it worse, trust me. I made sure of it.

Distant cousin of hers is Foxy the Merchant, but we all know he smuggles goods from Fazland to the Candy Republic. The illegal kind of goods, that is. I've even caught him red handed and had to release him. Bad fellow, there, but I can't attack him. He's under Mangle's protection.

Final suspect of mine is Toy Bonnie. He's... an odd fellow, so to speak. Definitely not a real man, but he's not a girl, either. You get what I'm saying. Real chic with his moves, clothes like a fashion designer. I'm not sure why he has been invited, though. Seen him only a few times around these parts.

You might be asking yourself: "Suspects? What's the crime?" I'll tell you what's the crime. It was a night in 1987 like any other. The country folks still remember it. An old gravedigger was wandering around, when he found a body of a child sprawled on the ground. The frontal lobe was missing. Bite marks. Someone bit the child. But who would do that? And why?

I never could investigate: nobody payed me to do that. But now... now all my suspects are here. In this room. And I can question them discreetly. I'll find out who the real culprit is, if it's the last thing I do. That, I promise you. Or my name isn't Marionette Puppet."

The synopsis

You're Marionette Puppet, a PI exploring the luxurious mansion of the Duchess of Cheesia, Mangle. Explore in this short mini-game and ask Foxy the Smuggler, the duchess Mangle, Toy Bonnie the secretly gay lad and some of the other fellows at the party questions about the Bite. Who committed it? Who knows?

Mangle is more classy, but also completely detached from reality. Foxy is the classic shady guy: you can't believe a word out of his mouth. Toy Bonnie, instead, is a little evasive of the questions, protecting his true self in a time period very critical of it. So who, who committed the Bite?

From here, I see the following events happening:

• The Count of Bearsdale, Fredbear, in the middle of the game, will start to cry and admit he had bitten a child's frontal lobe before. While being taken away by the police, he admits to you he thought you were talking about '83, not '87. The plot thickens

• You may also talk to Chica in smaller dialogues, who will mention Carl (the Cupcake, her dog) and his love for biting food

• Each suspect lies and tells the truth. At the end of the mini game, everybody still remains a suspect

• At the end, you will make a grand scene and say something in the lines of: "I know who did it! I knew who was the Biter of '87!" Everybody looks at you, and...

Possible Endings

• Ending 1: Wrong suspect. Accusing Foxy, Mangle or Toy Bonnie at the end of the mini-game will give you this ending, with each suspect saying: "I'm not the killer, you got the wrong person." or similar

• Ending 2: The real killer? Accusing the secret option, Carl the Cupcake, will get you this ending. Congrats, you may have found the real killer! But have you now? Or is this just the start of something bigger?

Two endings, two characters that can be unlocked. Not bad, right?
