Hey everyone! I hope all of you are doing well. I just wanna quickly say Happy 2022! I know I haven't updated you guys on the mod in a while, and trust me, I'm truly sorry for that. What's been taking me so long? That's what I'm going to be explaining here.

Now, originally, the vs. Dark mod was just a little passion project that I had come up with back around June 2021, but as I've said before (hopefully) is that I wasn't able to start working on it for another 2 months. That was because I didn't have the proper tools to be able to make music.

I also don't have the skills to draw a proper spritesheet for the mod, nor did I have art equipment at the time I originally made it. I literally just used a pre-made spritesheet and edited it with MS Paint 3D. Luckily, though, while I still don't have the skills to draw, I do have some better art software.

Over time I started to feel kinda bad about the mod. It was incredibly rough and made in just a matter of hours when I first figured out how Psych Engine modding works. And, to top it all off, something in the source code was broken. It caused the menu backgrounds, other than the default yellow one, to load into the game. It just wasn't working well.

So, I decided I would do things differently. I was working on a pre-release demo for version 5.0.0, but for now that is being cancelled. I'm going to be completely revamping a lot of the things that I've already done for my mod.

While I still will use a pre-made spritesheet that I'm going to edit, it will (hopefully) look better as I won't be using the McSonic spritesheet as my base.

All of the source code stuff I've done so far for it will be completely remade from the default Psych Engine code. Though, there is one thing. I want some help on working for it.

I don't know who I could ask though for any possible help, so until I figure it out, there is a way that you can apply and ask to be a helper in the mod. Though, there will be some guidelines. The guidelines that I'm setting are:

-Must be at least 15 years old.

-Must know proper English.

-Must be active on discord.

-Must have a good microphone.

-Must have the software required for the specific role you want.

To give some ideas for some software that will be useful in this, I'll list off some of them.

Obviously, it's most likely going to require Adobe Animate though, so keep that in mind.

PROGRAMMING:

CHARTING:

-How this will work is I'll send you the files for the song and the data and you chart them and send the chart back.

There is one other major thing though that I'm going to be doing for the revamped mod. Each week will be pretty much remade from scratch. The Week 1 + 2 songs will be the same, just remade, although I am going to be removing the week 3 from the 3.0.0 update to the original mod and replacing it with the original ideas I have for week 4 that would've been in the now canceled 5.0.0 preview. Anyway, here's what all I'm changing (as well as how high the priority is going to be for me to get it done.):

-New voice for Dark. (High Priority.)

-New voice for Light. (Low Priority.)

-New voice for Grayhog. (Low Priority.)

-New sprites for all the mod characters. (High Priority.)

-Revamping dialogue. (Medium Priority.)

-Adding some extra decor to the room. (Medium Priority.)

-Revamped Songs. (High Priority.)

-A new difficulty. (Low Priority.)

-And more!
