Sonic.EXE All-Stars 2 (Official Archive)

This post is dedicated to the content that didn't quite make the final cut for the game. A sort of trip down a new memory lane, might you say.

The old Main Menu

Remember the small menu you were presented with in the newest version of Sonic.EXE All-Stars? This is where that very menu originated from, and it served as a way to get players through into the game without having to watch the intro cutscene every time (yep, it was me that voice-acted the original scene, and I'm kinda embarrassed nowadays).

In All-Stars 2, this would've also served to have a bit more content, as well as a way to link back to Nickbear's DLC for the series, TheLostGame.EXE. Since neither game is in development anymore, and development has since shifted to a newer project Devy might've shown a bit of on his YT channel, I found it fitting to show off this classic menu for you guys.

Planned Continuation

Story-wise, this game would pick up directly where the Black Ring ending for the original game left off at, and would commence with a fight against SonicClone (now officially renamed to ManiX). Winning is the only way to proceed on, and then-. Oh, I don't want to spoil anything for a project me and Studio Stars Retro are on with at present. Moving on!

Other Content

As you may have guessed from the third image of a recreated Chaotix title screen, the game itself would have a different theme to it. This time around, the game revolved around the survival feeling that later games such as Mighty.EXE and Whiskas.EXE originally teased for themselves.

However, there was a catch. All of the game's present seven victims needed to survive together (with a special collectible detailed just below) and beat the new antagonist to the ground. If even one slipped up, it would be Game Over.

The Chaos Rings

The main collectible for this game, and the key to survival in general, would have been the Chaos Rings. Each of the game's seven playable characters, those being Blaze, Silver, Espio, Vector, Charmy, Mighty and Sonia, would need to acquire one of each to get the Good Ending of the game (yes, there's a seventh one added to this game, cause game logic).

Alternate Endings

As you might have guessed, there were going to be two endings to this game; the Bad Ending where everyone is dead (the cutscene of which I recreated in widescreen on my YT channel), and the Good Ending where everyone escapes and survives the killer's rampage.

As stated above, the latter ending needed you to not only outsmart the antagonist's traps, but also gather all seven of the in-game Chaos Rings. Failing to do one or either of those would net you the Bad Ending as a result.

Conclusion

And that's all I've got to say about this fangame's past development. The concept for these rounds isn't out the roof just yet, since other developers are continuing this work's legacy for the future, like Devy's new project and the yet-to-be-finished Hedgehog's Bloody Collection.

Though, do keep in mind that the killers you've seen between the original games won't show up in all the takes. Things will be mixed up for the future. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this look into some of what you never saw for the game, and I'll see you around!
