If you happen to notice one of the interactions I've had with people online, particularly youtube, concerning this game I can be rather terse and rude towards people.
There is a reason.
I do not like people who always tell you what to do, without ever asking any questions. If you do see any of the arguments I've had, look for anyone actually asking me why I did something.
No one does.
They told me what I should do, and expected me to kiss their feet in gratitude for it.
Not for a single moment does anyone consider that I do have reasons, and maybe, just maybe, I know what I'm doing and why I'm doing it.
Maybe you can see why I find most "advice" condescending and insulting.
In one case, the girl playing the game admitted she had no experience with classic RPGs. Which this game is largely based on.
She apparently had never seen any Family Guy, Futurama, Mel Brooks, Monty Python, etc. No experience at all with absurdism, satire or parody. Which is what this game mostly is.
She barreled through what she did play, skipping all the jokes.
She fought all the battles not using any of the skills.
Then she blamed the game, and me, for not enjoying it.
She wanted it to be like Undertale, and it's not. Apparently that's the only game she has ever played, and she thinks every game should be like it. She never tried to enjoy this game, or gave it a chance. That isn't the games fault.
You can't blame the train for your trip being bad, if you get off at the first stop and never see the journey through. Or you refuse to look out the window and spend the whole time starring at the floor.
